An ArchViz Lookdev Bible is a technical visual standard that defines how a real estate project should appear across CGI production. It is different from a corporate brandbook, which usually focuses on logos, typography, brand colours and communication principles.

A Lookdev Bible goes inside the production of the image itself. It defines how daylight should look, how reflective the façade should be, which lens range is acceptable for tower views, how much atmospheric haze is appropriate and how final images should be graded.

For large projects, the document can also support a centralised art-direction model. One Lead Art Director or specialised visual team acts as a Center of Excellence, while individual studios continue producing separate parts of the project.

The goal is not to make every render identical. The goal is to make every render clearly belong to the same visual system.

Creating an ArchViz Style Guide:
A Practical Standardization Workflow

A useful Style Guide must be specific enough to guide production, but simple enough for several teams to apply consistently. In most projects, four areas need to be standardised first: lighting, materials, cameras and post-production.

A tower project, for example, may use three approved scenarios: clean neutral daylight, warm golden hour and cooler evening light with controlled warm interiors. Vendors can adapt these setups to individual views, but they should not reinvent the atmosphere from scratch.

Materials are another common source of mismatch. The same stone façade can appear cream in one render, grey in another and almost white in a third simply because each studio interprets the reference differently.

The same principle applies to colour grading. A shared LUT or clearly defined colour treatment helps prevent one vendor from producing highly saturated commercial imagery while another uses a muted cinematic grade.

The purpose is not to remove creativity. It is to reduce unnecessary interpretation in elements that should remain consistent.

Camera choices strongly affect how architecture is perceived. If every studio chooses its own lenses, the apparent proportions of the same tower can change dramatically between images.

Wide lenses may exaggerate height, longer lenses compress depth, while different camera heights can make one view feel monumental and another much more residential. A Style Guide should therefore define basic camera families for different types of images.

Tower hero views may have an approved focal-length range and controlled verticals. Human-level views should keep a realistic pedestrian perspective, while masterplan views need consistent altitude, field of view and horizon position.

The aim is not to prescribe every exact camera position. It is to prevent radically different interpretations of the same architecture.

A technically consistent render can still become inconsistent during post-production. If every artist applies their own contrast curves, skies, colour grading and atmospheric effects, the project may fragment at the very last stage.
